How to play

Pick a racer. Start with a speedy chicken, a mud-loving duck or a goat who headbutts the competition, and give them a name.
Train. Pick a drill and stop the carrot in the gold for a Perfect. Every session makes your racer stronger.
Race and bet. On race day the bookies run practice heats to set the odds. Back your racer with play coins. Longer odds pay more, and a stronger racer gets shorter odds.
Hustle. In the race, tap HUSTLE for a burst of speed. It works best saved for the home stretch.
Hay bales and mud. Tap the track just ahead of a rival to drop a hay bale or a splash of mud in their way. Drop it ahead of the leader, not on top of them. Ducks love mud. Chickens panic.
Climb the circuit. Win the Cup on day 7 to move up: County Fair, State Fair, National Derby, and the Grand Derby itself.

Coins

Coins cannot be bought and cannot be cashed out. They are play coins, earned by racing. Betting in Barnyard Derby is a game with play coins only: no real money, and no prizes.

Training sessions and Golden Carrots

You can hold 2 training sessions at a time (3 with the Stable Pass). When you use one, a clock starts, and one session refills every 2 hours of real time until you are full again.

A Golden Carrot lets you train right now without a session or coins. Its drill is always a Perfect, at double the gain. You can get Golden Carrots by watching an optional ad on the training screen, from the Season Pass reward track, or in packs from the Shop. Golden Carrots are used up when you spend them.

The season pass

A season lasts four weeks and has 30 levels. You earn season XP by racing, training, finishing goals and claiming daily gifts. Everyone gets the free reward track. The Season Pass is a one-time purchase that unlocks the premium track for that season, with extra hats and Golden Carrots. Each new season has its own pass.

Purchases

Golden Carrot packs: 5, 20 or 60 Golden Carrots.
Season Pass: the premium reward track for the current season.
Stable Pass: hold 3 training sessions, double daily gifts, no ads between races, and the Golden cap.
Remove Ads: no more ads between races. The optional ads you can watch for a reward stay available, because they only play when you choose.
Rare animals for your barn, and a Hat Bundle with a pirate hat, a chef hat and a sombrero.

Restore purchases

On a new phone, or after reinstalling, open the Shop and tap Restore purchases. Everything you bought once (Season Passes, the Stable Pass, Remove Ads, rare animals and the Hat Bundle) comes back, as long as you are signed in to the same Apple Account. Golden Carrots are used up as you spend them, so they cannot be restored.

Refunds

Apple handles every payment, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The leaderboard

Joining is optional. Open the leaderboard from the stable screen and pick a nickname (3 to 14 letters, numbers or underscores). There are two boards: coins won this week, and Cups won all time. Weeks start on Monday at midnight UTC.

Report a name: tap the player's row, then Report name. When three different players report a name, it shows as "Hidden racer".
Block a player: tap the player's row, then Block. Your block list stays on your phone.
Leave the board: open Settings (the gear on the stable screen), tap Leave the board, then Delete. Your nickname and totals are deleted from our server right away. Your barn and coins stay.
Your name shows as Hidden racer? Other players reported it. Leave the board in Settings and join again with a new name.

Common questions

My coins, racers or hats are gone

Your game is saved only on your device, with no account, so deleting the app or moving to a new phone starts fresh. Purchases can be restored from Shop > Restore purchases.

I bought Remove Ads and still see an ad

Tap Shop > Restore purchases. Remove Ads switches off the ads between races. Ads you choose to watch for a reward, such as a free Golden Carrot, are still offered.

Can I change my answer to "Allow tracking"?

Yes. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, then Privacy & Security > Tracking, and switch Barnyard Derby on or off. The game plays the same either way. Our privacy policy explains what each choice means.

How do I delete my data?

Leave the board in Settings to delete your leaderboard record, then delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. For anything else, email us.
